Town of Ault Streets
The Town of Ault currently has about ten (10) linear miles of streets to maintain. Street repair and maintenance items are budgeted each year. Most of the repairs are completed by outside contractors as the Town has limited equipment and staffing for street maintenance. The Town implemented a street fee in 2022 which generates approximately $65,000 a year. This fee was put into place to eliminate the transfers for other funds for streets.
The Town budgets for two (2) blocks of street resurfacing and gutter pan repair or replacement each year as well as patching large potholes.
Milling and resurfacing with 2-3 inches of new asphalt is $90,000 to $175,000, depending on the subsurface of the street. Gutter pan replacement and repair averages about $55,000 to $80,000.
When funding is available The Town budgets for crack fill and chip seal of streets.
Alleys are graded and topped once a year when funding is available. This usually occurs in spring when there is sufficient moisture to rip the hard packed surface and re-grade.
Please report potholes located in Town of Ault streets! Email location information to info@aultcolorado.gov.
Sidewalks
Per Town code the property owner is responsible for the public and private sidewalks located on their property.
The Town budgets money for 'shared' sidewalk replacement each year. If a Town of Ault property owner wants to replace the public sidewalks along Town streets the Town will pay for half (1/2) of approved projects. If you wish to participate in this program email gruff@aultcolorado.gov with your project details.
